minor earth tremor was felt by the Eastern and Southern parts of the island this morning. State earthquakes monitoring authorities said that window panes were cracked as tremor was felt in some parts of the country.
National Geological Survey and Mines Bureau says the earth tremor was felt by Panama, Pottuvil, Batticaloa, Ampara, Monaragala, Hambanthota, Mathara, Galle, Elpitiya and Badulla areas around 8.50 am. The residents of Batticaloa reported moment of tremble in houses and window panes were cracked.
