rmy Commander Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara says that security forces announced through loudspeakers today (08) to the LTTE to free the hostages held in the no-fire zone and to surrender to the security forces.
Brigadier Nanayakkara said that several explosions were heard by troops inside the no-fire zone after that and reports had not receivedabout the damage caused by them.
Meanwhile, Pottu Amman has appointed one 'Velawan' as the new military leader and he has been instructed to open fire on anyone trying toescape the no-fire zone.
